Monique Haak  
     

started her training in fetal ultrasonography more than 10 years ago. In 1998, she became a research fellow at the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the VU University Medical Center, Amsterdam, where she conducted a trial on first-trimester echocardiography.

In this period she was trained in cardiac morphology at the department anatomy of the University of Leiden. In 2003 she finished her PhD on this subject. At presence she works at the VU University Medical Center as a consulting obstetrician and runs a specialized fetal echocardiography unit.

In 2008 she got an additional training in fetal cardiology at the Evelina Children Hospital (St Thomas) in London (dr G. Sharland and dr. J. Simpson).
